Skate-a-Thon
Skate-a-Thon is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Shaker Youth Hockey Association (SYHA). This year's fundraising efforts culminated with our Skate-a-Thon event on October 27th, 2024 - and we raised more than $22,000!!!
Our players competed in competitions including:
- fastest skater
- best puck handler
- most accurate shot
Everyone also got to shoot on a Shaker High School goalie - and then skate 50 laps as part of their fund-raising efforts.
- Funds raised support the SYHA in the following ways.
- Ice Time at Thornton Park and other rinks
- Offset Baseline Concussion Testing Fees for all players
- Send Teams to Out of Town Tournaments
- Equipment and Capital Expenditures
- Supplement Clinics & Training
- The Future and Success of our Program
The evening concluded with our annual Bantams vs. Coaches game, which amazingly the Bantams won 99-0 - just look at the scoreboard!
